Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE We're on a mission to make money work for everyone. We're looking for an experienced, highly proactive, and commercially-minded Financial Reporting Manager to deliver EU financial reporting and help us build a world-class finance function as we expand further into Europe. Reporting to the EU Financial Controller, this role would deliver high-quality financial reporting, strong financial governance, and scalable processes in support of our fast-growing, tech-driven EU expansion. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Financial Reporting Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes for Monzo EU, including oversight of the service provision under the Inter-Group Operating model from the UK to the EU. You'll ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies, lead the implementation of new accounting standards and disclosure requirements, and support the production, review, and delivery of the MBEU annual report and external financial reporting. You'll also work with our external auditors during audits, maintain internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), and protect our financial data and balance sheet substantiation process. You'll manage and mentor more junior team members involved in the reporting process, contribute to strategic projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and align reporting. You'll also work with our engineers and data teams to automate the production elements of this role, allowing you to focus on the parts of the role where your knowledge and skills provide the most value. Additionally, you'll support the CFO and EU Financial Controller with leadership team board compliance obligations and related ad hoc activities, and drive continuous improvement in reporting, reconciliations, and controls using modern finance tools and methodologies. WHAT YOU'LL NEED We're looking for a qualified chartered accountant (ACA or CA) with an audit background and minimum 3 to 4 years post-qualification experience. You'll have strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) and experience working with statutory audits. A banking background is preferred, and you'll have a good understanding of key financial controls with experience gained preferably in a retail bank. You'll have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior management and auditors. You'll also be highly comfortable with leveraging data to automate reporting and drive efficiency, and have skills such as SQL as a bonus. WHY REMOTE This role will be based in our London office on a hybrid working pattern. BENEFITS You'll receive a salary of £70,600 - £95,500, plus Incentive Awards tied to your performance.
