ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Financial Control Analyst to join Monzo's Finance collective, a team responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our businesses and controlling our processes as we expand into new markets and products. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Financial Control Analyst, you will be responsible for managing our month-end close process, ensuring a swift and accurate completion of our financial statements. You will work closely with our internal Finance team to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements. Your duties will include: - Managing accruals schedules, inventory, and other financial data to ensure accurate financial reporting - Writing insightful management commentary to inform business decisions - Collaborating with our engineering and data teams to automate production elements of this role - Maintaining and developing controls to protect our financial data and balance sheet substantiation process - Supporting our year-end process, working with external auditors and our Financial Reporting squad - Reviewing new products and assessing their accounting and implementation in our banking platform and accounting system - Helping maintain the integrity of our chart of accounts and financial static data - Resolving miscellaneous inquiries and supporting the overall finance team WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need to be a qualified accountant with an audit background, ideally with experience in financial accounting and control outside of practice. You should have a great eye for detail, be fascinated by the banking and regulatory landscape, and have a good understanding of key financial controls. You will also need to be a self-starter, comfortable translating complex information into simple words, and interested in using data (SQL skills a bonus). WHY REMOTE As a remote worker, you will have the flexibility to work from home or our London or Cardiff office, with ad hoc meetings in London.
