Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Monzo is redefining banking by turning complex financial processes into simple, transparent experiences for millions of customers. As a Finance Data Manager you will be a key member of our Financial Planning & Analysis team, turning raw data into strategic insights that shape product decisions, risk management and growth initiatives. You will work closely with analytics engineers, finance leaders and business partners to build scalable data assets and automated reporting that drive high‑impact decisions across the organisation. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will translate financial and commercial requirements into robust data pipelines, collaborating with analytics engineers to optimise core data infrastructure. You will design and deliver management information and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders. You will automate routine reporting processes, identify efficiencies and implement AI‑powered solutions to accelerate decision‑making. You will own end‑to‑end data quality, governance and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial datasets. You will act as a trusted advisor to business units, translating complex numbers into concise business narratives that influence strategy. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You have a proven track record in SQL and Python, with experience building production‑grade queries and data models. You are comfortable using generative AI tools to create data assets and have a strong foundation in financial statements, P&L management and forecasting. You possess a commercial mindset, able to distil complex data into clear business recommendations that drive action. You thrive on automating processes through code and AI, building clean, maintainable pipelines and visualisations. You are adaptable, resilient in dynamic environments, and can navigate ambiguity to deliver results. Excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation. WHY REMOTE Monzo embraces a distributed, asynchronous culture that empowers teams to work from anywhere in the UK. You will enjoy a flexible schedule that lets you balance personal commitments with professional responsibilities, while still collaborating in real‑time with colleagues across time zones. Remote work is supported by a robust digital infrastructure, secure data access, and a culture of trust that values output over location. Whether you choose to work from London, Cardiff, or your own home, you will be part of a vibrant, inclusive community that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning. BENEFITS Competitive salary of £70,600‑£83,000 plus performance‑linked incentive awards. Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental and mental health support. Generous paid time off, flexible working hours and a generous remote working stipend. Annual learning budget of £1,000 for courses, books and conferences. Company‑provided MacBook and fully supported home‑office setup for remote employees. Access to a full suite of employee benefits, including pension contributions, life insurance and wellness programmes.
