Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Linsco Ltd is a leading construction specialist that delivers both design and build solutions across South Yorkshire and beyond. We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in the success of our refurbishment and new‑build commercial projects. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate tenders, developing cost plans, and supporting the delivery of projects from initial bid to final bill of quantities. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, collaborate closely with project managers, designers and procurement, and contribute directly to the profitability and reputation of the company. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will review tender documentation, including drawings, specifications and project details, to extract key cost drivers and risks. You will develop logical, consistent pricing schedules and detailed cost breakdowns that form the basis of competitive bids. You will engage with subcontractors and suppliers on site to source labour, plant and material rates, negotiating favourable quotations that align with project budgets. You will attend weekly site meetings, conduct site visits as required, and ensure that all tender submissions are accurate, timely and fully coordinated with the wider project team. You will maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while working to tight deadlines, and you will support the delivery of successful projects across South Yorkshire and surrounding regions. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You will have a proven track record of reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications, with a strong background in refurbishment and new‑build commercial projects. Experience working on NHS or hospital refurbishment projects will be advantageous. You will possess a deep understanding of construction processes and on‑site requirements, and you will be proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Causeway software is a plus. You will hold a full UK driving licence and have relevant construction industry experience in an estimating or similar role. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as you will build positive supplier relationships and collaborate effectively with project managers, site teams, designers and procurement. You will be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. WHY REMOTE Linsco Ltd embraces a distributed, asynchronous culture that empowers employees to work from wherever they are most productive. Remote work enables you to balance professional commitments with personal responsibilities, fostering a healthier work‑life integration. The company provides a flexible schedule that supports different time zones and personal rhythms, while ensuring that all team members remain connected through regular virtual huddles, project collaboration tools and a shared knowledge base. By working remotely, you will enjoy the benefits of reduced commute time, increased focus, and the opportunity to contribute to high‑impact projects across the region from the comfort of your own environment. BENEFITS Competitive salary up to £55,000 based on experience; vehicle allowance or company car; company‑issued iPhone or equivalent device; bonus structure tied to contract awards; 22 days holiday plus bank holidays; pension scheme; one day per week remote working allowance; comprehensive health and dental coverage; paid time off for illness and personal days; remote work stipend to support home office setup; annual learning budget for professional development; and access to a robust internal knowledge sharing platform.
