English Language Expert

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced English Language Expert to join our team as a remote contractor. In this hourly role, you will play a critical part in improving the world's premier AI models by reviewing and generating expert language content. Your expertise will directly impact the accuracy, naturalness, and clarity of AI outputs, making them more reliable and effective. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an English Language Expert, you will be responsible for reviewing AI-generated English-language responses and generating expert language content. Your tasks will include: - Evaluating reasoning quality and providing precise, actionable feedback on AI responses - Assessing solutions for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the prompt - Identifying errors in logic, meaning, methodology, or conceptual understanding - Fact-checking information when needed - Writing high-quality explanations and model revisions that demonstrate correct methods - Rating and comparing multiple AI responses based on correctness and reasoning quality WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related field - Expert command of English (C2/Native-level preferred) with minimum C1 English proficiency required - Strong skills in grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and stylistic editing across registers - Exceptional attention to detail in identifying meaning drift, ambiguity, inconsistencies, and subtle errors - Ability to explain corrections clearly in writing - Comfortable applying style guides and enforcing consistency across varied content types - Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver consistent quality in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones - Previous experience with AI data training/annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred - Strong hands-on experience using tools like Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and others WHY REMOTE As a remote contractor, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and enjoy a self-directed workflow.
