Engineering Manager, Global Growth

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Global Growth team at Lyft. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction for the team, making strategic decisions about technical investments and product work, and communicating the team's strategy to leadership and stakeholders. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented backend and mobile engineers, mentoring and guiding their professional and technical development, and helping them deliver business impact. You will also be responsible for building a collaborative and inclusive team culture, setting the technical vision and strategy for our evolving product area, and co-owning the product strategy with our product partner. Additionally, you will create plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges, maintain a balance between building sustainable projects and shipping quickly, and instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need a strong technical background and experience with people management. You should have a minimum of 10 years of software engineering industry experience, including technical leadership, and 2+ years of experience with people management. You should also be able to contribute to planning and design discussions, build trust to lead a team of engineers, and guide them through their career development.
