ABOUT THE ROLE JobTrade is building a global library of educational resources that empower learners across India and beyond. As a DTP Operator, you will be the bridge between our content writers and the final product, ensuring that every book is polished, professional, and ready for publication. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with a diverse team of editors, designers, and project managers to deliver high‑quality print and digital assets on schedule. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will type, format, and layout educational books in both English and Assamese using Adobe PageMaker, ensuring flawless spelling, grammar, punctuation, and visual consistency. You will review drafts from the content team, apply style guidelines, and make precise adjustments to typography, margins, and imagery. You will coordinate with designers to integrate graphics, tables, and charts, maintaining a clean and cohesive look across all pages. You will conduct thorough quality‑control checks, flag any layout or typographic issues, and implement revisions before final approval. You will manage version control, file naming conventions, and archival of completed projects, ensuring easy retrieval for future updates or reprints. Finally, you will meet project deadlines, communicate progress to stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement of our DTP workflow. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You have proven experience with Adobe PageMaker or equivalent desktop publishing tools, and a strong command of both English and Assamese written language. You possess meticulous attention to detail, excellent spelling and grammar skills, and a solid understanding of typographic principles. You can work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a remote environment. You are comfortable using collaboration platforms such as Slack, Trello, or Asana, and can provide clear, concise updates to the team. You have basic troubleshooting skills for software or file‑format issues and a willingness to learn new tools as our publishing pipeline evolves. A portfolio of published works or a sample layout is a plus.
