ABOUT THE ROLE
Happily is seeking a highly organized and strategic Director of Operations to drive the company's growth and success. This key role reports directly to the CEO and plays a central part in Happily's operating system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating company priorities into clear plans, aligning teams around the roadmap, and ensuring the company follows through on its goals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Director of Operations, you will be responsible for:
Operational Management
- Translating leadership priorities into clear owners, timelines, and weekly next steps
- Maintaining the company operating roadmap across sales, product, client services, growth, and internal systems
- Tracking progress against goals and flagging what is stuck, late, blocked, or no longer relevant
- Supporting the sales team by tracking pipeline performance, proposal activity, conversion rates, deal size, timing, and bottlenecks
- Helping to translate qualified opportunities into clear scopes, timelines, staffing plans, and budget assumptions
- Pressure-testing proposed scopes to ensure they are operationally realistic, properly resourced, and aligned with company priorities
- Running weekly goal reviews, leadership check-ins, and internal operating meetings
- Identifying operational risks and creating practical systems to improve accountability, follow-through, and decision-making
- Coordinating legal and compliance workflows related to contracts, disputes, equity administration, and business operations
Systems & Technology
- Building and improving internal systems, dashboards, and tools to make the company easier to run and scale
- Owning company dashboards across sales, revenue, marketplace performance, delivery, product usage, and team goals
- Building and maintaining KPI reporting in Happily, Hubspot, Google, and other internal systems
- Partnering with product, engineering, and growth teams to connect product priorities to revenue, customer needs, and operational efficiency
- Translating business needs into product requirements, workflows, and implementation plans
- Supporting rollout plans for new features, internal tools, client-facing systems, and operational improvements
- Creating and maintaining SOPs, templates, planning tools, and internal handoff documents for recurring workflows
- Leveraging AI tools and no-code platforms to enhance company-wide productivity
- Ensuring key systems have clear owners, clean data, and useful reporting
- Developing, documenting, and refining internal and client service delivery systems to improve consistency, scalability, and efficiency
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Helping the CEO translate company strategy into clear reporting, planning materials, and leadership-level decisions
- Monitoring company performance against key metrics and recommending adjustments as needed
- Preparing internal leadership updates, stakeholder reports, and quarterly planning materials
- Maintaining a clear view of active initiatives, product priorities, sales priorities, and operational tradeoffs
- Supporting quarterly and annual planning by identifying risks, resource gaps, and decisions needed from leadership
- Tracking competitor, market, and customer insights to inform planning, positioning, product priorities, and operational decisions
People Operations & HR
- Owning the administrative and process side of people operations to ensure recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, reviews, and team issues do not fall back on the CEO
