Director, Markets

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Director, Markets to join our Market Management Team at Oscar, a health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. As a Director, Markets, you will be responsible for managing membership growth and financial performance within your assigned market. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to manage performance, develop and execute strategies, and assist in the development of goals to meet short and long-term objectives. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Director, Markets, your key responsibilities will include: - Managing the financial performance for assigned markets - Developing and maintaining key relationships with providers, regulators, and community partners - Identifying and executing on growth opportunities - Serving as the chief subject matter expert on your markets and providing internal knowledge on relevant region and policy developments - Building, managing, and constantly improving upon workflows and systems - Generating financial insights to ensure Oscar's long-term sustainability and working with internal departments to execute on these insights - Leading a team of key talent and building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders - Contributing as a member of the leadership team and advocating for the needs of your markets and members - Building new provider relationships by leveraging and enhancing Oscar's value proposition - Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 10+ years of work experience in the healthcare industry - 8+ years of experience managing complex negotiations at the executive level - 8+ years of experience in healthcare contracting, operations, and market economics - 8+ years of analytical experience with the ability to quickly break down and evaluate complex financial structures and operational workflows - A Master's of Business Administration or other professional degree is a plus WHY REMOTE This is a remote position based in the field, open to candidates who reside in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Your daily work will involve a blend of work from your home office and frequent travel for client meetings, with up to 50% travel required.
