Dental Nurse
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our Community Dental Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality dental care to a diverse range of patients, including adults and children with additional needs and medically compromised individuals. You will work flexibly within the dental team to deliver comprehensive support to clinicians, ensuring the efficient operation of our service.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Dental Nurse, you will be responsible for providing patient care, interpreting patient needs, and working with dental equipment. Your duties will include:
- Providing advice to patients, carers, and families about dental procedures, including pre and post-operative advice, management of complications, and pain control
- Preparing surgeries and clinical areas prior to sessions and closing down at the end of sessions
- Conducting performance checks and daily maintenance of dental equipment, ensuring operational readiness and reporting faulty equipment
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing contaminated equipment, instruments, and treatment areas between each patient, following cross-infection procedures
- Processing digital radiographs
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide dental treatment
- Processing instruments in decontamination rooms
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified and trained dental nurse with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
