ABOUT THE ROLE Anthropic is building the next generation of safe, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. As a Data Center Sourcing Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the silicon foundation of our global data center footprint is reliable, cost‑effective, and delivered on schedule. You will own the end‑to‑end sourcing strategy for CPUs, memory (DRAM and HBM), and other critical semiconductors that power every platform we deploy, aligning commercial terms with engineering roadmaps and market dynamics. Your work will directly influence the speed, scale, and safety of our AI services. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will lead strategic sourcing for silicon across all data center platforms, from initial vendor engagement through long‑term supply agreements and performance management. You will secure allocation and capacity commitments on constrained parts, negotiating pricing, lead‑time, and volume terms that protect Anthropic’s deployment plans through market cycles. You will own the operational rhythm with silicon vendors, maintaining scorecards, tracking capacity, and conducting quarterly business reviews. You will monitor the silicon supply chain, including foundry and packaging capacity, memory pricing cycles, and vendor roadmaps, translating insights into sourcing strategies, qualified alternates, and cost targets. You will collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and operations to triage supply issues, drive trade‑off decisions, and keep stakeholders aligned through ambiguity. You will develop Claude‑powered workflows for vendor benchmarking, RFPs, contract analysis, cost modeling, and reporting, and produce deal memos, vendor reviews, and operational readouts that leadership relies on to keep programs on track. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring at least seven years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply‑chain operations across multiple hardware categories, with a proven track record of securing constrained parts and negotiating long‑term agreements. You are operationally rigorous, comfortable owning supplier performance, lead‑time discipline, and fulfillment escalations as a regular part of your role. You thrive under ambiguity, bringing structure to undefined problems and influencing cross‑functional partners without direct authority. You communicate clearly in writing, producing artifacts that senior stakeholders can act on without follow‑up. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required. Bonus experience includes ten years in sourcing or hardware program management, five years of data‑center hardware sourcing at scale, hands‑on operational sourcing instruments, familiarity with data‑center infrastructure, and a history of supporting large‑scale hardware deployments where on‑time delivery and supplier performance drove program outcomes.
