Customer First GEO Content Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE Okta is seeking a highly proficient GEO Content Specialist to execute content-focused Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies for Okta and Auth0. This is a mid-level individual contributor role focused on ensuring content is optimized for visibility and retrieval in the evolving landscape of AI Search/GEO/AEO. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter with a strong understanding of content, SEO, and the mechanisms of Large Language Models (LLMs). WHAT YOU'LL DO As a GEO Content Specialist, you will be responsible for executing content-focused GEO strategies, optimizing content for visibility and retrieval in AI Search/GEO/AEO, and developing and refining content blocks to be machine-parsable and aligned with semantic density and emerging AI answer formats. You will also identify opportunities for content optimization by reviewing GEO prompt data, analyzing competitors, and thinking creatively about content needs for the business. Additionally, you will maintain a working knowledge of how LLMs function, relevant KPIs, and content-related GEO best practices, and apply concepts such as vector embeddings, RAG, grounding, chunks, passages, and citations in daily content work. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need 2+ years of professional experience in SEO, and content strategy, with a focus on content optimization and/or content development. You should have a strong understanding of how content is rewarded in both LLMs and modern-day search ranking algorithms, as well as familiarity with current GEO concepts and the role of LLMs in search. You should also be proficient in data analysis and insights gathering for content output and performance tracking, and have strong communication skills to articulate content requirements and results clearly.
