Credit Risk Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE Coinbase is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to strengthen its Counterparty and Credit Risk team within Financial & Operational Risk. The analyst will manage credit exposure across the company’s global institutional client base, underwriting counterparties and shaping lending solutions in the dynamic digital asset market. The position is open to candidates located in the United States or the United Kingdom and is fully remote. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will lead the diligence and underwriting of institutional counterparties, including hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, and venture capital firms. Your responsibilities include recommending internal credit ratings and risk‑based limits, producing written analyses for senior leadership, and monitoring portfolio exposures. You will conduct periodic surveillance of trading partners, communicate concentration trends and settlement risks, and analyze asset volatility and liquidity to inform limit‑setting and capital planning. Additionally, you will negotiate industry documentation such as PBAs, MLAs, and ACAs and collaborate with business development, operations, legal, and product teams to resolve complex client or product challenges. WHAT YOU'LL NEED The role requires 1–3 years of hands‑on credit risk management experience in a fast‑moving financial services or digital asset environment, with a focus on institutional clients. You should have a working knowledge of capital markets products and standard industry documentation, and be able to produce clear written credit memos and present risk recommendations to senior stakeholders. Proficiency in building quantitative credit models and exposure analyses using spreadsheets, SQL, or other analytical tools is essential. Experience with responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency, cost, and quality is also required. BENEFITS Base salary ranges from $106,210 to $111,800 USD annually, excluding equity and bonus. Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
