ABOUT THE ROLE
The Credentialing Specialist is a volume-driven production based role at Oscar, a health insurance company that utilizes a full stack technology platform to serve its members. This role involves handling day-to-day activities, including provider interactions and back office credentialing tasks, in accordance with standard operating procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Credentialing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive understanding of current processes, procedures, and tools associated with credentialing. You will interact daily with providers or internal Oscar teams according to assignment needs, manage an assigned caseload while maintaining service delivery, productivity, and quality expectations, and form working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also support the leadership team by identifying issues through established escalation pathways, be accountable for monitoring and tracking the health of all assigned work-in-progress issues, escalate and resolve issues to ensure appropriate turnaround times, and be an active participant in process improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will comply with all operational, regulatory, and compliance standards relating to member Personal Health Information (PHI) and applicable laws and regulations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of experience in a fast-paced, volume-based or customer service-oriented environment. Bonus points will be given for strong verbal and written communication skills, strong quantitative or analytical skills focused on proactively identifying or solving problems, in-depth knowledge of health insurance, credentialing or provider facing experience, experience manipulating and entering accurate data in a production driven environment, and advanced Google Suite or Microsoft Office capabilities or willingness to learn.

The base pay for this role is $19 per hour, and you will also be eligible for employee benefits and monthly vacation accrual at a rate of 15 days per year.
