Compliance Advisory Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE The Compliance Advisory Specialist will play a key role in Adyen's Compliance Escalation Team, providing expert advice on compliance matters to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration and drive business growth. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Compliance Advisory Specialist, you will be responsible for: - Representing Compliance to commercial and operational teams, facilitating communication with Compliance, Regulatory, Legal, and Risk functions, and conducting trainings. - Providing ad-hoc Compliance advice to internal stakeholders and customers, deconstructing complex challenges and supporting the team in providing solutions that align with Adyen's strategic objectives and overall risk appetite. - Performing and coordinating Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) risk assessments, assembling risk expertises from internal specialists across different functions for the provision of customer acceptance advice to relevant stakeholders, including Senior Management. - Strengthening and scaling Adyen's Compliance framework, in line with Adyen's risk appetite and strategic objectives. - Identifying opportunities to leverage data and technology towards efficient and effective Compliance processes. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 2+ years of experience in a 2nd line of defense Compliance function at a Payment Service Provider, FinTech, or Financial Institution. - Robust knowledge of regulatory and licensing regimes of payment/e-money institutions and a thorough understanding of AML/CFT risks. - An analytical mindset, with the ability to deconstruct complex Compliance challenges into manageable components and draft and monitor the implementation of relevant business processes, procedures, and policies. - A strong sense of initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to maintain oversight and drive multiple complex topics simultaneously through a structured approach to work. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate advice with clarity and synthesize complex issues for various audiences. - Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with peers and customers from various disciplines and cultures.
