Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Associate, Strategic Finance to join our Finance team at Oscar, a health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. The ideal candidate will support financial planning, analytics, and business insights for the business, working closely with Finance leaders on business reviews, full-year projections, and strategic partnership with business leadership.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Associate, Strategic Finance, you will be responsible for creating new reporting, analytical insights, and presenting findings to multiple levels of leadership. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Crafting recommendations using a data-driven approach combined with business intuition for senior executives to make pricing decisions that influence our growth and bottom-line
- Supporting the build of models and tooling that produce relevant business insights, including competitive intelligence insights and scenario modeling
- Collaborating with Actuarial, Regional Leaders, Plan Design, and Sales teams to develop portfolio strategy for each Oscar market
- Identifying and researching profitability tradeoffs, market trends, and membership insights to help guide company-wide strategic decisions
- Sourcing, organizing, and analyzing data to support all strategic programs in the team
- Monitoring important metrics and identifying latest trends around the ACA landscape for leadership to help quickly inform tactics during selling season
- Reporting intra-year membership analytics to leadership to understand the health of the business
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Actuarial or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of finance experience, including experience in Healthcare, Consulting, Insurance, or Financial Services
- 2+ years of experience with Google products (Sheets, Docs, and Slides) or Microsoft products
- 2+ years of experience working with C-level executives
WHY REMOTE
This is a remote position, and you will be fully remote. However, our approach to work may adapt over time, and future models could potentially involve a hybrid presence at the hub office associated with your metro area.

- Base pay of $96,876 - $127,149 per year
