Coinbase
Associate Manager, Internal Audit
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Coinbase is a global leader in digital asset finance, committed to expanding economic freedom through secure, innovative technology. The Internal Audit team serves as the third line of defense, ensuring that governance, compliance, risk management, and control processes are robust and effective. As an Associate Manager focused on Financial Crimes Compliance, you will own end‑to‑end audit engagements that protect the company’s integrity and support regulatory readiness across the U.S., EU, and APAC. Your work will directly influence the design of controls, the mitigation of financial crime risks, and the confidence with which Coinbase can scale worldwide.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will lead FCC audit projects from planning to final reporting, coordinating with stakeholders across business units to understand processes and identify risk exposures. You will design and execute data‑driven testing, analyze large datasets, and validate remediation actions taken by management. Your reports will distill complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership, ensuring that audit insights translate into tangible improvements. You will mentor junior auditors, guiding them on fieldwork techniques, documentation standards, and compliance best practices. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement of audit methodology and internal tools, leveraging generative AI responsibly to enhance efficiency and quality.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You bring at least six years of audit, financial crimes compliance, or risk management experience, preferably within FinTech or financial services. You possess a deep understanding of AML, sanctions, and terrorist financing regulations across the U.S., EU, and APAC, and you can translate regulatory requirements into practical audit procedures. Your analytical skills enable you to perform rigorous testing on large datasets, identify control gaps, and assess the effectiveness of remediation efforts. You have a proven track record of independently managing audit engagements, overseeing teams, and delivering high‑quality workpapers under minimal supervision. You are comfortable applying generative AI tools in a responsible manner, ensuring human oversight while improving workflow efficiency and output quality.
WHY REMOTE

Quarterly in‑person “surge” sessions bring the team together for intensive, focused work and cross‑functional collaboration, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
