Associate Manager, Billing Operations & Strategy

ABOUT THE ROLE As an Associate Manager, Billing Operations & Strategy at Coinbase, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's mission to increase economic freedom. This is a high-impact role that requires operational rigor and strategic execution. You will be responsible for running day-to-day billing operations and leading the work to make them faster, cleaner, and more automated. Your work will directly underpin how Coinbase recognizes institutional revenue and maintains client trust at scale. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you will own day-to-day billing operations for Custody and Prime, including invoicing accuracy, the monthly close, and the billing ticket queue. You will also lead and develop the billing operations team and coordinate BPO support. Additionally, you will drive billing and collections automation, including AI-assisted drafting and ticket triage, to improve cycle time, cost, and quality. You will partner with Revenue Accounting, FP&A, Engineering, and Sales on billing systems and the migration from Salesforce to the Prime platform. You will also execute and maintain evidence for billing-related SOX controls. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need 5+ years of experience in billing, revenue, or finance operations, including direct process ownership. You should have experience leading or mentoring teammates and managing operational queues to SLA. You should also have a strong command of billing and invoicing systems and reconciliation, with hands-on experience in NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable tools. A track record of improving operational processes through automation and tooling is also required. You should have working familiarity with SOX controls and the financial close. Additionally, you should be able to utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. WHY REMOTE Coinbase is a remote-first company, but not remote-only. You can expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.” This allows you to work from anywhere while still having the opportunity to collaborate with your team in person. BENEFITS Coinbase offers a competitive annual base salary range of $130,900 - $154,000 USD, excluding equity and bonus. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
