ABOUT THE ROLE Trant Engineering Limited is a leading provider of end‑to‑end EPC solutions for the UK’s critical infrastructure. As a Wireperson, you will be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that control panels, motor control centres (MCCs) and automation systems are assembled to the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance. Your work will directly support the delivery of complex projects across process, water treatment, energy and civil engineering, enabling our clients to operate reliably and efficiently. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Assemble and wire control panels and MCCs to approved schematics, wiring diagrams and BOMs. - Install, terminate and test power, control and instrumentation cabling, ensuring correct segregation and routing. - Interpret electrical drawings, mark up as‑built changes and maintain accurate build documentation. - Collaborate with testers, supervisors and design teams to meet production targets and resolve build issues. - Perform self‑checks and peer checks, identify defects and report non‑conformances to maintain safety and quality standards. - Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on wiring practices, layout and efficiency. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation, Panel Wiring or Electrical Engineering. - Proven experience wiring control panels, MCCs and similar electrical assemblies, including power, control and instrumentation termination. - Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring schedules, BOMs and general arrangement drawings. - Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices, workshop H&S requirements and quality‑controlled manufacturing processes. - Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to high quality and safety. - Legal right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
