ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced Visual Designer to join our Website Design Engineering team at Vercel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for shaping the visual language of our most-seen surfaces, including vercel.com, nextjs.org, product launches, and Ship. Your primary focus will be on creating visually stunning and memorable experiences that showcase the Vercel brand. You will work closely with design engineers to bring your ideas to life and ensure a seamless transition from design to production. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Visual Designer at Vercel, you will be responsible for defining the visual language of our most-seen surfaces and setting a creative direction for the team. Your tasks will include: - Creating hero animations, launch films, event environments, and brand-partnership work that reaches across screen and physical space. - Owning the creative vision end to end, from concept to finished result shipped on the real web. - Setting the craft bar for typography, motion, and detail that make a page unmistakably Vercel. - Moving fluidly across mediums, including web, motion, illustration, 3D, and identity. - Leaving a mark on the system by influencing Geist and our shared patterns through work that becomes the standard. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - A distinctive eye and original ideas, with exceptional visual design instincts and creativity. - A portfolio spanning brand systems and work across multiple digital and physical mediums, anchored by strong, shipped web work. - 8+ years of design experience, with a meaningful hands-on range across several mediums, including motion, 3D, illustration, environmental and event design, and interaction. - Systems-minded approach, designing components and patterns, not one-offs, and thinking about how each choice fits a broader system. - Experience shaping launch moments, events, or brand-partnership surfaces under real deadlines. - Comfortable collaborating with engineers and understanding the web as a medium. - Familiarity with Vercel, with working knowledge or experience preferred. WHY REMOTE This role is fully remote, with the option to work from one of our hubs in SF, NY, London, or Berlin. If you're located within a pre-determined commuting distance of one of our offices, the role includes in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
