Staff Software Engineer, Community Support Engineering

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Staff GenAI Backend Engineer to join the Ambassador Routing & Channels (ARC) team at Airbnb. As a critical part of our Community Support organization, the ARC team is responsible for powering intelligent, differentiated service experiences that ensure every support request is addressed by the right expert at the right time. This role will drive meaningful impact across our core routing and differentiated service programs. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Staff GenAI Backend Engineer, you will lead engineering delivery on strategic programs that enable intelligent agent matching, routing, and differentiated service experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient backend systems that drive faster resolutions, higher quality interactions, and exceptional customer satisfaction at scale. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development and system design - Strong expertise in GenAI, machine learning, and natural language processing - Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ - Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and containerization (e.g. AWS, Docker) - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams WHY REMOTE Airbnb is a remote-friendly company, and this role is open to remote candidates.
