Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE LaunchDarkly's Guardian team is seeking a skilled designer to build the safety layer for software delivery. As a designer on this team, you will work closely with engineers and product managers to design and ship high-quality user experiences that enable software teams to ship changes safely, catch regressions before users notice, and recover without incident. The Guardian product surface includes Guardian Releases, Guardian Monitoring, and the Software Factory, an automated delivery pipeline that takes a change from PR to production to cleanup without a human in the loop. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a designer on the Guardian team, you will be responsible for designing across the entire product surface, including Guardian Releases, Guardian Monitoring, and the Software Factory. You will work closely with engineers to contribute to implementation decisions, understand technical constraints, and stay engaged through the build process. Your responsibilities will include: Designing production-quality work through multiple shipped states, iterating based on real usage, and maintaining quality under delivery pressure Mapping and clarifying complex workflows to identify UX debt and opportunities for improvement across Guardian's surfaces Contributing to the UX strategy for your product surfaces alongside your fellow Guardian designer Partnering with your PM and Engineering Manager on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs, and advocating for strong user experiences Grounding design decisions in evidence, including engineering constraints, customer feedback, analytics, and design partner signals from the Factory Alpha and Beta programs Contributing to LaunchDarkly's design system, extending patterns for Guardian's specific interface types and building alignment across the UX team Participating in UX critique, giving and expecting direct, specific feedback WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 6-8+ years of experience designing complex, shipped digital products, ideally in developer tools, observability, CI/CD, incident management, or configuration-heavy B2B SaaS A strong point of view on UI craft, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality Experience designing for technical users who are willing to push back and communicate directly Ability to work well in a two-designer team, splitting ownership, sharing context, and building on each other's work without stepping on it Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to take on complex problems WHY REMOTE LaunchDarkly is a fully remote company, and this role will be no exception. As a remote designer, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and will be part of a team that values collaboration, communication, and mutual respect. BENEFITS LaunchDarkly offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and a generous PTO policy.
