Senior Associate, Compliance Technology (Compliance Automation)

ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring a Senior Associate, Compliance Technology to join the Platform organization at Coinbase. This role will play a key part in building and operating data and detection capabilities that enable Coinbase to meet global BSA/AML and related regulatory obligations at scale. As a member of the Compliance Technology team, you'll partner with Compliance, Product, and Engineering to ensure monitoring and investigative controls are effective, measurable, and auditable. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Associate, Compliance Technology, you'll be responsible for building and owning end-to-end data pipelines that power compliance detection and decisioning. This will involve creating curated datasets and data models, owning data quality for compliance datasets, partnering with cross-functional engineering teams and Compliance stakeholders, driving detection signal quality improvements, and executing measurement frameworks for compliance control effectiveness. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need a minimum of 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data-heavy technical roles. You should have advanced SQL proficiency, including complex transformations, performance tuning, and data quality checks. Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data models using tools such as dbt, Airflow, or equivalent orchestration/transformation frameworks is also required. Additionally, you should have demonstrated ability to execute on ambiguous, cross-functional projects in regulated environments with clear written and verbal communication. WHY REMOTE Coinbase is a remote-first company, and this role will be performed remotely. While we have a remote-first approach, we also have quarterly in-person working sessions called “surges” where you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with your team in person. BENEFITS Coinbase offers a competitive total compensation package, including an annual base salary range of $167,280 - $196,800 USD, as well as equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
