Maintenance Operative

ABOUT THE ROLE Scape is a leading premium accommodation provider with properties across London, Surrey, Australia and the United States. As a Maintenance Operative you will be the first line of support for our students and staff, ensuring that every property remains safe, functional and welcoming. You will work within a dedicated team, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, and will be responsible for both reactive and preventive maintenance across a range of facilities. Your work will directly influence the quality of the living experience that Scape delivers, making you an essential part of our mission to provide outstanding accommodation. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Execute a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including carpentry, tiling, basic plumbing, electrical, guttering, decorating and plastering, to keep all properties in top condition. - Diagnose faults and conduct leak investigations, then carry out repairs or coordinate specialist subcontractors to resolve issues efficiently. - Maintain accurate records of stock levels, plant room cleanliness and equipment status, reporting any deficiencies to the Maintenance Manager. - Manage keys and locks, oversee site security, and ensure all safety procedures are followed, including incident reporting and health & safety compliance. - Participate in a structured on‑call rota covering evenings and weekends, responding promptly to emergencies and unplanned repairs. - Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on maintenance processes and contributing to training sessions for the team.
