ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Processor Implementation Manager at ChimeCore, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable implementation, validation, and operational readiness of payment processors, funds flows, and platform changes across our internal processing system. This individual contributor position is ideal for someone who excels in data-driven decision making, using advanced SQL and analytics to drive insights and resolve complex issues. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Accounting, Finance, and Bank Partnerships, to serve as the analytical backbone of complex payment investigations and implementations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Processor Implementation Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting complex processor implementations, migrations, and platform changes, ensuring operational readiness and a smooth handoff to steady-state owners, with data validation at every stage.
- Writing sophisticated SQL queries to investigate transaction anomalies, support reconciliation research, and surface root causes across large, multi-rail datasets in Snowflake.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on ChimeCore payment flows, transaction lifecycles, and data models, translating that expertise into clear, queryable logic others can rely on.
- Collaborating with bank partners and engineering on funds flow, reporting, and transaction investigations, bringing structured analysis and proposed resolutions.
- Supporting Accounting, Audit, Risk, and Finance by interpreting platform behavior and transaction data to aid investigations and reporting.
- Participating in incident response and escalations by driving investigation, proposing hypotheses, and supporting remediation.
- Defining expected versus anomalous processor behavior and contributing to the design of monitors and alerts in partnership with Engineering and Processor Operations.
- Performing advanced data analysis and SQL-based investigations to support reconciliation research root-cause analysis and articulating findings to a broader audience.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To thrive in this role, you will require:
- 6+ years of experience in bank and/or payment operations, with a broad understanding of operations, including accounting, funds flow, settlement, processing, etc.
- Expert-level SQL skills, with the ability to write complex, optimized queries from scratch and investigate large transactional datasets in Snowflake.
- Strong reconciliation knowledge and background.
- An understanding of the end-to-end payments ecosystem, including payment methods, card networks, issuer processing, and the regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with network operations, including Visa, Mastercard, PLUS, and Star, as well as network vendors that facilitate AFT/OCT payments and other forms of card-based money movement.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Accounting, Compliance, Legal, Risk & Engineering to identify, evaluate, and size opportunities and prioritize work.
- Experience driving continuous improvement projects, applying deep knowledge to uncover and execute both short-term and long-term optimizations.
