ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director Business Development Army is a senior sales leader responsible for driving personal sales performance while guiding and enabling a team of field sales managers and representatives. This role maintains direct customer engagement, provides leadership across territory strategy, pipeline development, and sales execution, and shares accountability for field sales performance within the service vertical.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Director Business Development Army, you will contribute directly to revenue generation, support and influence overall field sales performance across the service vertical, and partner with the VP, Business Unit Leader to execute sales strategy. You will also support sales managers and representatives through coaching, deal strategy, and escalation support, while reinforcing accountability and execution discipline. Additionally, you will develop and execute territory and account plans aligned to company objectives, maintain and manage an active pipeline of opportunities, quotes, and orders, and drive opportunity progression from identification through order execution.
You will also be responsible for maintaining direct customer relationships, participating personally in key deals, strategic accounts, and complex sales efforts, and establishing and maintaining strong relationships with end users, contracting offices, and program stakeholders. Furthermore, you will maintain working knowledge of DoD budget cycles, appropriations, and funding mechanisms, monitor customer programs, funding timelines, and mission priorities, and liaise with strategy, business development, and capture teams to align field sales activity with longer-term pursuits.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need 10+ years of experience leading field sales teams in DoD or federal markets, demonstrated success coaching quota-carrying sales teams to revenue targets, and strong knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps procurement environments. You will also need a strong understanding of federal procurement, contracting, and customer environments, prior military service (strongly preferred), and a Bachelor's degree (preferred or equivalent industry experience). Additionally, you will need U.S. citizenship and eligibility to work in the United States, as this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
