Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Coinbase is building the next generation of financial infrastructure, and our Tokenized Equities product is at the forefront of that transformation. As Accounting Manager for Tokenized Equities, you will lead the design and execution of the entire accounting framework for a regulated on‑chain asset platform. Your work will shape how the company records token issuance, redemption, and inter‑company flows, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and the Abu Dhabi Global Market’s regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Controllership to embed robust controls and scalable processes from day one, positioning Coinbase as a trusted partner for global investors. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build the accounting model from the ground up, covering token issuance, redemption, asset tracking, and the close process. - Own regulatory compliance and reporting to the FSRA, including liaison with the regulator and handling ad‑hoc inquiries. - Partner with cross‑functional teams to design accurate, controlled, and scalable flows for new product features. - Sign off on fund flows, posting rules, ledger structure, reconciliations, and reporting prior to launch. - Lead accounting analysis for new structures under US GAAP and IFRS, including dividends, splits, and balance‑sheet treatment. - Build the reporting framework for the issuer entity, supporting annual audited IFRS financials, local filings, and external audit. - Establish a control environment for a regulated launch, ensuring audit trails, books and records, and data integrity across on‑chain and off‑chain systems. - Identify accounting, controls, and reporting risks early, assigning owners and developing mitigation plans. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or equivalent strongly preferred. - Extensive experience in a regulated setting such as capital markets, broker‑dealer, exchange, custody, clearing, or digital assets. - Proven track record of working directly with a financial regulator on inquiries, exams, or filings. - Demonstrated ability to apply accounting rules to new or complex products and to build finance processes for new entities or regimes. - Strong controls mindset and the capacity to shape system architecture before launch. - Excellent communication skills and comfort navigating ambiguous, fast‑moving environments. - Familiarity with the FSRA regulatory framework and rulebook. - Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots, continuously learning and applying human‑in‑the‑loop practices to improve efficiency, cost, and quality.
