Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE The Underwriter position at CG United Insurance Ltd is a key role within our organization, responsible for evaluating and underwriting Personal and Commercial Lines risks. This position plays a crucial part in supporting profitable growth, service excellence, quality documentation, renewal retention, and effective collaboration across the underwriting value chain. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting risks in accordance with Company guidelines, delegated authority levels, regulatory requirements, and sound underwriting principles. This will involve analyzing and assessing risks to ensure that our customers receive the best possible coverage while maintaining the financial stability of our company. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need at least 3 years of experience in underwriting or a related field. A Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Diploma Level or equivalent insurance qualification is highly desirable, as is a Bachelor's degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business Management, or a related field. You will also need strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with sound judgment and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Word and Excel, is also essential.
