Technical Services Curriculum Engineer
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Services Curriculum Engineer will be a key member of the Technical Services team at MongoDB, working closely with technical leaders and subject matter experts to create and maintain technical education modules for team members. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering interactive internal training modules to support the team in performing their support tasks at the highest levels.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Technical Services Curriculum Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining, and continually improving internal training materials, including videos, slides, reference materials, and evaluations.
- Identifying technical and procedural training needs across the team.
- Fostering a culture of continual learning, skill sharing through live training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Building out the training curriculum, module hierarchy, and training policies.
- Collaborating with subject-matter experts to create and review technical content.
- Establishing and reporting on training KPIs and success metrics.
- Creating environments and technical exercises for hands-on engineering workshops.
- Improving practices and tooling related to the training content lifecycle.
- Evaluating and recommending the most effective delivery methods for training.
- Suggesting the appropriate cadence to keep key skills fresh and supporting new product and feature readiness across the organization.
- Working with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Experience developing and delivering technical education/training.
- Experience consolidating and presenting technical concepts from subject-matter experts.
- Familiarity with course development methodologies.
- Proven success in creating, delivering, and managing effective hands-on learning.
- The desire and ability to rapidly learn a wide variety of new technical skills.
- One or more of the following technical skills: experience using or managing databases, coding in languages with MongoDB drivers, managing software development projects/ processes/ SDLC, system administration of Linux servers or networks, technical support experience, data analysis experience.
- Experience evaluating training effectiveness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
