Anthropic
Incident Management Lead, Data Center Security
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Anthropic is building a global network of data center campuses that power the next generation of reliable, interpretable AI. As the Incident Management Lead for Data Center Security, you will architect and execute a unified crisis and incident management framework that spans all sites, vendors, and operating partners. Your work will ensure that every physical security event—whether a minor access issue or a multi‑site outage—receives consistent detection, escalation, and resolution, safeguarding both our infrastructure and the integrity of our AI systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will define a clear incident taxonomy and severity levels in partnership with site security vendors, managed‑service providers, and internal stakeholders, establishing thresholds, escalation paths, and notification protocols that apply fleet‑wide. You will translate these definitions into actionable playbooks, conduct training and tabletop exercises, and validate readiness across all sites and vendors. You will build real‑time dashboards and executive reports that track incident metrics, response times, and post‑incident improvement, providing leadership with a transparent view of program health. You will negotiate and enforce a single set of standards for multiple vendors and GSOC‑type providers, ensuring uniform procedures, reporting formats, and performance metrics. When a major incident occurs, you will lead the crisis command, coordinating across sites, vendors, and internal teams, delivering timely leadership updates, and steering the post‑incident review to capture lessons and drive continuous improvement. Finally, as the program matures, you will design and operationalize a 24/7 monitoring and response model that guarantees coverage at all hours, rooted in the same framework you established.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You bring at least seven years of experience in incident or crisis management within large, distributed infrastructure environments, preferably in data center or critical infrastructure settings. You have a proven track record of designing incident taxonomies, governance models, and cross‑functional playbooks that achieve high adoption rates. Your technical fluency includes familiarity with security operations centers, incident response tools, and metrics dashboards. You are a collaborative leader who can influence vendors and internal partners without direct authority, and you excel at translating complex security requirements into clear, actionable procedures. Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—enable you to produce concise executive briefings, detailed post‑incident reports, and training materials. You thrive in a fast‑paced, remote environment, managing multiple priorities and stakeholders across time zones.
WHY REMOTE
Anthropic embraces a distributed, asynchronous culture that empowers teams to work from wherever they perform best. As Incident Management Lead, you will coordinate with partners across continents, leveraging flexible hours to maintain continuous coverage while respecting personal work‑life balance. Remote work enables you to engage with global stakeholders without the constraints of a single office, fostering a collaborative environment that values outcomes over presence.
BENEFITS
Anthropic offers comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, a generous paid time off policy, a remote work stipend, and a learning budget to support professional growth. You will also receive competitive equity, performance bonuses, and access to cutting‑edge tools and resources that empower you to build a world‑class incident management program.
