ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Technical Architect at GitLab, you will play a critical role in helping customers plan and execute source code management (SCM) migrations, modernize their cloud and DevOps architectures, and adopt GitLab as their DevSecOps platform of choice. This is a customer-facing technical leader position within our Professional Services organization and the wider Customer Success team. You will have the opportunity to influence strategic customer outcomes, support a world-class consulting organization that serves companies across many industries, and help co-create the future of how customers build and ship software with GitLab.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Technical Architect, you will partner with Professional Services Engineers, Project Managers, and Solution Architects to design and deliver complex, enterprise-grade solutions for customers across different industries. You will lead technical discovery and architecture conversations with prospects and customers, translating ambiguous requirements into clear solution designs and actionable implementation plans. You will also support customer migrations and implementations, including source code management (SCM) migration, cloud architecture design, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) consulting services.
Some key responsibilities of this role include:
- Partnering with Professional Services Engineers, Project Managers, and Solution Architects to design and deliver complex, enterprise-grade solutions for customers
- Leading technical discovery and architecture conversations with prospects and customers
- Supporting customer migrations and implementations, including source code management (SCM) migration, cloud architecture design, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) consulting services
- Providing technical leadership during Professional Services engagements
- Collaborating with Regional Delivery Managers on staffing assessments and new hire candidate evaluations
- Mentoring Professional Services and partner consultants
- Creating and delivering enablement sessions for Professional Services and other teams
- Contributing to pre-sales activities by joining sales conversations and shaping statements of work (SOWs)
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead complex technical conversations with customers, partners, and internal teams. You will also need demonstrated progressive experience delivering consulting services such as source code management (SCM) migration, cloud architecture, software development, or continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) consulting services. Additionally, you will need experience identifying, understanding, and clearly explaining complexities, tradeoffs, and potential challenges during initial scoping and discovery sessions with prospects and customers.
