Staff Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Okta's Auth0 is a leading authentication and authorization platform that makes everyone's login experience awesome. We're seeking a seasoned software engineer to join our Native Apps team, where you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of authentication. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex challenges, leverage the latest technologies, and collaborate with a talented group of engineers, product managers, and designers. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a software engineer on our Native Apps team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing features, APIs, and fixes to handle our current and future scale. You'll work closely with the support team to ensure our customers have an exceptional experience with our products. Additionally, you'll participate in on-call rotations for troubleshooting production issues, lead team discussions, and mentor other engineers to become senior and improve team productivity. You'll also have the opportunity to leverage AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot, Google Gemini, and Claude, to accelerate the software development lifecycle without compromising security. You'll use these tools to rapidly prototype, generate boilerplate code, and refactor complex systems, ensuring that the code meets our strict authentication standards. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you'll need: - 8+ years of software development experience - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Experience creating public or internal APIs using NodeJS, JavaScript, or TypeScript - Experience working with both relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL document databases (MongoDB) in a production environment - Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) - A strong understanding of software architecture, technical integrity, and long-term scalability - Autonomous and continuous improvement mindset - Attention to detail and a focus on user experience WHY REMOTE We're a remote-friendly company that values collaboration and flexibility.
