Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Webflow is redefining how modern marketing teams build, manage, and optimise web experiences. As a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure you will shape the foundation that powers our platform, ensuring it remains reliable, scalable, and cost‑effective as we grow. You will work closely with product, design, and data teams to architect and deliver infrastructure solutions that enable rapid innovation while protecting the trust of millions of customers worldwide. WHAT YOU’LL DO You will lead the design and implementation of cloud‑native services that support Webflow’s full product stack, using AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes to deliver high availability and low latency. You will own end‑to‑end reliability, driving initiatives that reduce incident triage time, automate recovery, and improve observability across distributed systems. You will mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, setting technical direction and fostering a culture of craftsmanship and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define new tooling, processes, and best practices that accelerate engineering velocity and reduce operational risk. You will participate in design reviews, code reviews, and incident post‑mortems, ensuring that lessons learned translate into measurable improvements. WHAT YOU’LL NEED You bring at least ten years of experience building and operating large‑scale, customer‑facing distributed systems with minimal downtime. You are a proven leader who has designed multi‑region cloud architectures on AWS or GCP, and you are comfortable deploying and managing container‑centric platforms such as EKS, GKE, or AKS. You have deep expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform or Pulumi, and you have leveraged Cloudflare Workers and tooling to extend edge performance. You are fluent in at least one backend language (TypeScript, Node, or Go) and can contribute to full‑stack services and tooling. You have a track record of driving reliability, cost optimisation, and automation, and you thrive in a fast‑paced, data‑driven environment. You are an excellent communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and you are passionate about mentoring the next generation of engineers. WHY REMOTE Webflow’s remote‑first culture empowers teams across the US, Canada, and beyond to work asynchronously while staying tightly connected through regular video syncs, shared documentation, and a robust internal communication platform. Flexibility in schedule allows you to balance peak productivity times with personal commitments, while our distributed teams collaborate through clear, outcome‑focused processes. The remote model also enables us to attract top talent from around the world, ensuring that every engineer can contribute at their best without geographic constraints. BENEFITS We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents, with most premiums paid by Webflow. All full‑time employees receive equity (RSUs) that reflects their contribution to the company’s growth. You will enjoy generous paid time off, a 12‑week paid parental leave for all parents and additional leave for birthing parents, and a remote work stipend to support a productive home office. Continuous learning is encouraged through a dedicated budget for courses, conferences, and certifications. We also provide a robust bonus program tied to company performance, ensuring that your impact is rewarded.
