As a Staff+ Software Engineer, Developer Productivity, you will be part of the Infrastructure organization, which is foundational to our mission. Your work will determine how quickly we can train new models, how reliably we can run safety experiments, and how effectively we can scale Claude to millions of users. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Staff+ Software Engineer, Developer Productivity, you will own the technical strategy and roadmap for your area, translating team-level goals into concrete execution plans. You will define infrastructure architecture, design and build scalable, reliable distributed infrastructure and shared libraries, and own and evolve build environments, package management, and dependency systems. You will also define and implement language ecosystem standards, tooling, and frameworks that drive developer productivity across research and production workloads. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need deep experience with build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and/or developer tooling in a large monorepo environment. You will also need strong proficiency in Python, Rust, and/or Go, as well as experience with container orchestration and infrastructure at scale. Excellent communication skills and the ability to support internal partners to improve their development experience are also essential. BENEFITS The annual compensation range for this role is £325,000 - £390,000 GBP.
