Staff Full Stack Engineer, Identity
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a seasoned Full Stack Staff Engineer to lead the technical direction of our Identity team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining the architecture for our core systems, making strategic decisions, and driving the evolution of our product. If you have a passion for building scalable and reliable systems, and are excited about the opportunity to shape the future of identity verification, we want to hear from you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Full Stack Staff Engineer on the Identity team, you will be responsible for:
- Owning the technical strategy for our Identity product area, including defining the architecture for our core systems, making build vs. buy vs. partner decisions, and surfacing technical risks before they become customer-facing failures.
- Leading the development of net-new systems, including the Identity Store, Networked Identity platform, and advanced fraud detection pipeline.
- Driving cross-functional alignment by partnering with ML, product, legal, and engineering leads across Risk, Fraud, Link, Connect, and Crypto to ensure our Identity abstractions serve the full breadth of our product surface.
- Raising the technical bar by setting engineering standards across ML, backend, mobile, and front-end, leading design reviews, and mentoring senior engineers on the judgment needed to operate a high-stakes, externally-facing product.
- Operating with ownership by being accountable for the reliability, scalability, and security of the systems you design, including the observability and alerting that catch model drift and fraud pattern shifts before customers do.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be considered for this role, you should meet the minimum requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of experience in a strategic technical leadership role.
- Experience leading engineering team(s) working on API design, abstractions, frameworks, or client libraries.
- Proven track record of delivering pragmatic solutions that accelerate business growth.
- Ability to adjust conversations from high-level discussions to detailed coding.
- Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication.
WHY REMOTE
This role is open to candidates based in our Seattle, New York, or San Francisco offices, or remote within the US. For those who live within 35 miles of an office, we offer a hybrid work environment with an expectation of in-office presence 50% of your working days each month.
BENEFITS
- Competitive salary and equity package.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) matching program.
- Flexible PTO and parental leave policies.
- Access to cutting-edge technology and tools.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Collaborative and dynamic work environment.
