ABOUT THE ROLE
Later, the world's most intelligent influencer marketing company, is seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to join its Platform's Shared Services group. As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building high-quality, distributed applications that drive business growth and success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Staff Engineer at Later, you will be responsible for a wide range of technical and strategic tasks, including:
Designing scalable, maintainable, and secure service architectures to drive platform-wide improvements and reduce technical debt.
Building backend services using C# and TypeScript for web and background worker applications.
Working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL expertise.
Designing, containerizing, and deploying services with Docker and Kubernetes.
Building and optimizing cloud infrastructure using AWS or similar platforms.
Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Infrastructure as Code.
Applying security best practices across applications and infrastructure.
Ensuring reliability and scalability through test automation, performance profiling, and optimization.
Integrating and managing third-party APIs with robust monitoring and management practices.
Exploring and implementing AI/ML-driven features or integrations into applications.
As a Staff Engineer, you will also be responsible for team and collaboration tasks, including:
Acting as a technical mentor to junior engineers, elevating skills and practices across the team.
Collaborating with Product Managers, other Staff Engineers, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, scope projects, and deliver platform solutions.
Working closely with stakeholders to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex backend issues across the stack.
Contributing to engineering culture by modeling ownership, accountability, and a growth mindset.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
8-15 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong background in distributed systems, platform engineering, and driving architectural decisions.
Experience with C#, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure systems.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
A passion for staying current on emerging technologies and best practices in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and secure software practices.
