Staff Data Scientist - Long Term Impact

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Staff Data Scientist - Long Term Impact at Airbnb, you will be part of the Core Data Science team, responsible for leveraging state-of-the-art science to drive the highest possible impact on the business and community. You will build reusable tools and models that empower data science teams across the organization and tackle the most technically challenging, high-impact data science problems the company faces. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will develop and improve frameworks for estimating the long-term impact of platform changes, connecting short-term outcomes to long-term impact. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing causal estimates for the long-term impact of short-term metric movements - Building frameworks for estimating how the impact of product changes evolves over time - Creating frameworks and tooling to evaluate the heterogeneous impact of product changes - Developing and applying causal inference methods to measure a wide range of platform/product impacts WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics, or Physics - Proven ability to design analytical solutions to complex problems with real-world applications - Familiarity with recent developments in causal inference - 6+ years of experience (with Ph.D) or 8+ years (with Master's) of working or doing research in one or more experimentation/causal inference domains - Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, Scala, Java, or C++ - Versatility to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences - Publications or presentations in recognized Data Science journals/conferences are a plus WHY REMOTE This position is US-Remote Eligible, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States. While occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
