Staff Backend Engineer - Grafana App Platform | US | Remote

WHAT YOU'LL DO We're looking for a skilled engineer to help us refactor Grafana's core architecture to be fully multi-tenant and scalable, as well as a solid platform for our opinionated Cloud apps. You'll be responsible for coding new features, enhancing the operational experience of the systems you develop, and iteratively improving them based on production insights. You'll also author, contribute to, and review design documents, take an active role in shaping the roadmap, mentor and support other team members, and collaborate with different teams across the organization. In addition, you'll participate in on-call rotations to own the experience of our customers. You'll have access to modern AI coding assistants, backed by a company-funded usage budget, and be encouraged to use pragmatic AI-assisted development to iterate quickly without unnecessary friction. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need strong coding skills and operational experience, with a background in operating the software you've built. You'll have worked on a SaaS platform and dealt with common distributed systems problems, such as scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, HA, etc. You'll also have excellent communication skills, be willing to work across teams, and be pragmatic, prioritizing progress over perfection. You'll be proficient in Golang, either already familiar with the language or excited to learn it. In the United States, the compensation range for this role is $174,986 - $209,983 USD, with actual compensation varying based on level, experience, and skillset.
