ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a highly motivated Staff Backend Engineer, Alerting to join our team at Grafana Labs. As a remote opportunity, we're interested in applications from the UK. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Staff Backend Engineer, Alerting, you'll be working at the core of the Grafana open-source project, providing the most in-depth way to let users manage their alerts. Your responsibilities will include: - Influencing our roadmap and your own career objectives - Delivering new features and iterating on results with your team - Driving projects from initial ideation to operations in the hands of customers - Embracing our open-source culture and contributing to other projects - Designing, building, operating, and maintaining critical systems - Participating in on-call rotations and taking ownership of services - Mentoring and supporting other team members - Learning new skills and gaining a deeper understanding of our cloud product WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be a great fit for this role, you'll need: - A motivated self-starter attitude with a bias towards action - Customer focus and a passion for creating intuitive products - Pragmatism and the ability to break down complex challenges - Good communication skills and experience working with remote teams - Solid experience with at least one programming language (we use Go, but familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar is also valuable) - Experience delivering projects from requirements to shipping a product - Experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or systems engineering - Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software WHY REMOTE As a 100% remote company, we thrive in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset. All of our roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), giving every team member ownership in Grafana Labs' success.
