Software Engineer, Streaming Systems

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our Streaming Systems team at Hightouch, a leading Agentic Marketing Platform powered by a Composable Customer Data Platform. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building high-throughput systems that collect, forward, and perform real-time computation on billions of behavioral events from our customers' users. This data is the foundation for our "Cursor for Marketers" AI agent product, which has seen significant market response and requires scaling to meet demand. Our streaming products have experienced rapid growth, with revenue increasing 10 times over the past year. To maintain this pace, we need to ensure our infrastructure can handle millions of messages per second at single-second latency end-to-end. You will own and deliver projects from start to finish, work directly with customers to solve their hardest scaling problems, and have significant influence over our technical roadmap. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build the infrastructure that ingests clickstream, product interaction, and transactional data into our platform - Design and develop high-scale systems that can handle millions of messages per second at single-second latency end-to-end - Collaborate with customers to solve their hardest scaling problems and architect solutions that meet their needs - Own and deliver projects from start to finish, with significant influence over our technical roadmap WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Experience with distributed systems and high-scale systems, or the ability and desire to build this experience quickly - Familiarity with streaming systems like Kafka, Kinesis, Pulsar, or Warpstream - Ability to design and develop systems that can handle high RPS and low p99 latency - Strong problem-solving skills and experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment WHY REMOTE Hightouch is a remote-first company, and this role is location-independent.
