Software Engineer – Networking Group

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Networking Group at Cato Networks, a pioneering company in cloud networking and security. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing our cloud-based, proprietary networking and security management solutions. Our innovative technology has inspired a new product category, SASE, and we are on a fast track to becoming the worldwide market leader. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing highly scalable processes for gathering and analyzing real-time network statistics, events, and large-scale data. Your tasks will include: - End-to-end backend development, from processing large-scale data to designing efficient microservices - Developing and enhancing high-performance, scalable services - Improving the reliability, security, and scalability of existing infrastructure - Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data, Security, and UX - Researching and adopting new technologies to improve our products WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - 4+ years of hands-on experience in backend development - Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with an advantage in Go - Experience with using and implementing RESTful APIs, with an advantage in GraphQL - Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network protocols - Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and software engineering principles - Experience with databases, including NoSQL (Elasticsearch, Redis, MongoDB) and relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) - Familiarity with microservices architecture and technologies, including Docker and K8S - Experience with AWS technologies is an advantage - Proven experience in big data applications is an advantage - Experience with FE technologies and JavaScript is an advantage, particularly with React and TypeScript - Experience working with AI tools, such as Claude, is an advantage - Strong problem-solving skills, self-learning ability, and team collaboration mindset - B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and enjoy a better work-life balance.
