Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Software Engineer, Infrastructure role is part of the Infrastructure Engineering organization at Chime, a financial technology company. This team manages the infrastructure systems that power Chime's products, including AWS, Networking, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Observability. As a member of the Core Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing the infrastructure components that power Chime and ensuring our members can use Chime products reliably.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
In this role, you can expect to automate infrastructure scaling, monitoring, and operations, build tools for self-service within the team and across Chime engineering, design, build, and support Chime's cloud infrastructure using automation and infrastructure-as-code, adapt new technologies to improve efficiency and reliability, partner with product development engineers to build services according to modern design patterns, and develop strong relationships with engineers, managers, and other colleagues. You will also be a constant advocate and adopter of AI tools and evangelize agentic AI workflows in a safe and reliable manner.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To thrive in this role, you should have more than 2 years of cloud and Infrastructure experience, strong development experience in Ruby on Rails and Go Lang, previous professional experience in a DevOps/SRE/ProdEng role supporting customer-facing web services, previous success in enabling effective partnerships and strong communication with other engineers and teams, experience managing Kubernetes clusters, building and managing highly-available public cloud infrastructure and services, and using configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools. Familiarity with common monitoring, logging, and observability platforms, as well as experience with AWS services, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog, and Terraform, is also required.
