ABOUT THE ROLE The Software Engineer, Fulfillment role at Lyft is a key position in the Marketplace team, responsible for determining what inventory can be reliably offered for a given rider session and fulfilling rider requests. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with cross-functional groups to lead and execute large projects, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that power the rideshare experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Software Engineer, Fulfillment, your primary responsibilities will include: - Contributing to the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs - Writing well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code - Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge - Building features from technical specifications to positive execution - Proactively participating in resolving ongoing incidents - Unblocking, supporting, and effectively communicating with teams to achieve results - Sharing knowledge through brown bags and tech talks WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will require: - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience - At least 3 years of software engineering industry experience - Proficiency in object-oriented programming - Experience designing, debugging, and running fault-tolerant, highly available, large-scale distributed systems - Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.) - Experience with common CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, TeamCity) and proficiency in at least one of those tools - Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases WHY REMOTE While this role is primarily based in-office, with a hybrid schedule that requires working in the office at least 3 days per week, you will also have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
