Software Engineer, Financial Platform

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to play a critical role in the development of our new financial platform. This platform will serve as the backbone for Chime, powering the most important financial activities that millions of our members undertake every day. As a Software Engineer, Financial Platform, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying components of our new financial platform, ensuring that it is highly reliable, scalable, and secure. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Software Engineer, Financial Platform, your primary responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, testing, and deploying components of a new financial platform - Delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure and APIs - Working with our infrastructure engineering team to minimize the operational overhead of production systems you deploy - Developing thoroughly tested code and conducting quality assurance on all new code alongside our QA team - Learning and executing on agile methodologies, following test-driven development approaches - Participating in on-call rotation, responding to incidents outside of regular working hours when necessary WHAT YOU'LL NEED To thrive in this role, you will have: - Experience in Go, with additional experience in backend languages such as Ruby, Java, and Python - At least 4 years of engineering experience, with a focus on contributing to the development of backend systems - Experience in payment processing systems and a rigorous approach to testing-backed development - Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms, Cloud Native technology, No-SQL Databases, and architectural patterns of large, mission-critical production services - Experience working in continuous integration/deployment environments WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, while still being part of a dynamic and innovative team. This role requires occasional business travel, but the majority of the work can be done remotely. BENEFITS As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for a competitive salary, bonus, equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $133,000 and up to $184,000.
