ABOUT THE ROLE Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, shaping how the web is built and helping builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience. We're now building the platform for the next generation of products, where software will be built, extended, and operated by agents. As a trusted platform for companies like OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide, we're looking for a talented Software Engineer to help define what comes next. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Software Engineer on the Agent Stack team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing core framework primitives for eve, Vercel's framework for building production-ready AI agents. You'll contribute to eve's runtime, built on Vercel Workflows, AI SDK, and Sandbox, and help shape the developer experience for the next generation of AI-native applications. Your key responsibilities will include: Designing and shipping core eve framework features, such as file-system conventions, compiler, and runtime Building and maintaining integrations across eve's channel layer and connections layer Collaborating with the AI SDK, Workflows, and Sandbox teams to ensure eve's primitives compose seamlessly on the Vercel platform Driving DX quality, including CLI ergonomics, error messages, docs, and examples Contributing to eve's evaluation and observability story, including test suites, scoring rubrics, and deployment-time evals Partnering with early customers and internal teams to gather feedback, diagnose agent reliability issues, and iterate rapidly WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you'll need: 5+ years of production TypeScript/JavaScript experience, with a strong understanding of distributed systems concepts and experience building or operating developer tooling, frameworks, or SDKs used by external developers Familiarity with LLM APIs and agent orchestration patterns, as well as a track record of shipping high-quality open-source or customer-facing APIs and caring deeply about API design WHY REMOTE As a remote Software Engineer, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere and enjoy a range of benefits, including: A competitive salary range of $208,000-$312,000, based on job-related skills, experience, and location A total compensation package that may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role A commitment to fostering and empowering an inclusive community within our organization, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion
