Software Engineer, CDP - Stablecoin

ABOUT THE ROLE The Coinbase Stablecoin team is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join their team. As a critical member of this team, you will build and operate the backend services and onchain contracts that power the issuance, reserves, minting, and burning of custom stablecoins. This is an opportunity to work alongside a talented group of engineers, designers, and product managers to turn the stablecoin roadmap into shipped features every quarter. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Software Engineer on the Stablecoin team, you will be responsible for: - Building and extending smart contract functionality for minting, burning, and safeguarding custom stablecoin supply, working closely with senior engineers on design and security review - Implementing backend services that power onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards distribution - Collaborating with engineers, designers, and product managers to turn the stablecoin roadmap into shipped features every quarter - Developing reporting, monitoring, and internal tooling that improve reliability and operational excellence for the team - Writing high-quality, well-tested code across both backend and smart contract surfaces WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 2+ years of experience building and maintaining production backend services - Exposure to writing, testing, or deploying smart contracts (Solidity or similar EVM languages), or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly in new technical domains with mentorship - Comfort working within a service-oriented architecture and contributing to established systems at scale - Familiarity with Golang and blockchain fundamentals (Ethereum or similar EVM chains) - Ability to responsibly use generative AI tools and copilots in daily workflows, continuously learn as tools evolve, and apply human-in-the-loop practices to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality WHY REMOTE Coinbase is a remote-first company, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. BENEFITS Coinbase offers a competitive total compensation package, including a target annual base salary range of $146,300 - $154,000 CAD, as well as equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).
