Software Engineer-Android

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Software Engineer at StockX, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Android experience. This is an opportunity to take ownership of technology decisions, solve complex challenges, and build features that redefine how our global community interacts with the marketplace. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a key member of our high-growth team, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and debugging the StockX Android app using Android Studio. You will also build GraphQL APIs that interact with our backend services and REST APIs, utilizing Clean Architecture with MVVM, design patterns, and best practices. Additionally, you will leverage Jetpack Compose to build modern, scalable UIs, stay up-to-date with technology changes, and work on initiatives from start to finish, including A/B testing. You will collaborate with product owners, internal stakeholders, program managers, and engineering managers to crystallize ambiguous requirements and propose resilient technical solutions that scale to future business needs. You will also propose and adopt best engineering practices, guide development standards, and foster a growth mindset culture. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will require 3+ years of Android development experience, a good understanding of the Android platform, and experience with Kotlin, Android Studio, and Jetpack Compose. You will also need experience with GraphQL and REST APIs, as well as working in an Agile environment. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to document new features, additions, and bug fixes clearly and explain complex technical terms to non-technical users.
