Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer to join our team at Cloudflare. As a Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and adoption roadmap for our customers. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with various teams at Cloudflare to drive customer success. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Strategic Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare. Your primary goal will be to aid customers in achieving their objectives by working closely with every team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support. You will seek out and create scalable solutions for your customers' needs, driving customer success through the entire organization. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need a good fundamental understanding of how to obtain the technical win so that customers choose our proposed solutions over those of competitors. You will also require a strong understanding of the Internet, including the differences between TCP and UDP, authoritative and recursive DNS, firewalls, TLS, HTTP, and other related technologies. Additionally, you should have experience in explaining complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms and be able to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing demands. Desirable skills and experience include: - Business fluency in German - Ability to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing demands - Understanding of how customers make buying decisions and how to explain ROI - Travel expected to customer offices, conferences, and/or do talks - Previous experience in a pre-sales SE or consulting role - Demonstrated experience with a scripting language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Bash) and a desire to expand those skills - Experience with building a web application or contributing to an existing application in a meaningful way - Understanding of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC-2 - Exposure to emerging technical landscape trends, e.g. SASE and Zero Trust WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere while still being part of a collaborative and dynamic team.
