As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Convert team, you will shape the technical future of the platform that powers experimentation, personalization, analytics, and conversion optimization for millions of users worldwide. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will define the long‑term architecture for backend systems that ingest, process, and serve large volumes of visitor and event data with low latency and high availability. You will lead the design and evolution of high‑throughput distributed services and APIs, ensuring strong consistency where it matters most. You will partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to productionize statistical and AI/ML capabilities into reliable real‑time infrastructure. You will own complex, multi‑team initiatives from problem framing to launch and ongoing operational stewardship. You will raise the engineering bar through architecture reviews, technical standards, observability practices, and tooling that support long‑term quality. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring 12+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in architecting and operating large‑scale backend and distributed systems. You are fluent in at least one of Python, Java, or Go, and comfortable with modern frameworks, distributed patterns, and system design at scale. You have a proven track record of building high‑throughput, data‑intensive services that balance scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, and performance. You have demonstrated technical leadership across ambiguous, cross‑pillar initiatives, influencing architecture and strategy beyond your immediate team. You collaborate effectively with product, design, data science, and ML stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions. You communicate clearly with both technical and executive audiences, making pragmatic tradeoffs in fast‑moving environments.
