Senior Solutions Architect - West

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a critical role in helping GitLab prospects and customers in the West territory of the United States see the value of our AI-powered DevSecOps platform in solving technical issues and advancing business goals across the full software development lifecycle. You will act as a strategic technical advisor, guiding complex evaluations, shaping long-term architecture choices, and helping customers modernize their approach to software development, security, and deployment. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Solutions Architect, your key responsibilities will include: - Guiding technical discovery, product demonstrations, and validation activities to confirm technical fit and accelerate evaluation milestones for GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform. - Owning the technical evaluation process for complex opportunities, including solution design, workshop facilitation, proof of concept or proof of value execution, and technical materials for tenders, audits, and assessments. - Developing end-to-end technical strategies for assigned accounts that expand platform adoption, reduce delivery risk, and enable multi-team and multi-year transformation milestones. - Collaborating with Account Executives and regional sales teams in the West territory to shape account and territory plans, support qualification, and align technical strategy to customer priorities and business outcomes. - Advising technical practitioners and business leaders on modern software development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, cloud, and platform adoption practices to improve delivery efficiency and strengthen security outcomes. - Driving competitive analysis and positioning for complex opportunities by using market, industry, and customer context to clarify GitLab's differentiated approach and improve technical win readiness. - Representing the voice of the customer by sharing product feedback, use cases, integration needs, and field insights with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to improve roadmap decisions and integration readiness. - Mentoring other Solutions Architects, contributing to team learning initiatives, improving technical collateral and documentation, and sharing subject matter expertise through GitLab's collaboration channels. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - Experience working with customers in technical pre-sales, consulting, or related roles where you've guided solution design, technical evaluations, and adoption planning. - The ability to solve customer issues with broad scope and high complexity, including integration challenges and cross-functional technical scenarios. - Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including DevSecOps practices, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud concepts. - Hands-on familiarity with AI-powered DevSecOps platforms and related technologies.
